"I had previously owned a sandwich shop franchise so when I began looking for a new business opportunity, I was already aware of the benefits of owning a franchise".
I like the fact that with a franchise you have a recognised brand and reputation, which gives you a head start before you even start trading. As well as this, with a franchise you get all the support and tools you need to run your business.
The Snack in the Box franchise appealed to me because it enables me to work on my own and I am not dependent on staff to make my business a success. I also liked the fact that Snack in the Box is associated with the Mars brand, you only work weekdays, and you can choose the hours you work.
When I launched my Snack in the Box business in 2008 I was completely prepared for what to expect due to the very good training that had been provided by head office.
In addition to the training I have received excellent extensive support. My turnover last year was £100,000 and this year I have taken on a further 50 sites, which should increase this figure to £180,000. As well as my financial success I really enjoy the independence of running my own business and the fact that if it succeeds or fails it is down to me.
