The Self Service Box
The Snack-in-the-Box business concept was originally a family run business developed from an American system and established along the South Coast of England in 1991 using one vehicle and 50 boxes. Each box contained over 50 items made up of chocolate confectionary, savoury snacks and crisps.
The box was designed to meet Health & Safety Regulations even when placed in factories and garages that had a dusty atmosphere. Boxes were located in a wide range of premises, staff rooms etc including the local bank, shops, the golf course, offices, garages, nursing homes, small factory units.Emphasis was placed on giving a professional service by providing quality branded snacks, a friendly approach, reliable deliveries and strict adherence to our company philosophy.
Each location was re-visited on a weekly basis. Cash in the Self Service box was counted and checked against stock. The box was removed and a newly filled and cleaned box left with the customer. Business owners and managers expressed great appreciation for the service, as the availability of quality snacks in the premises did not require employees to leave the premises in order to purchase such items.
