Comic Relief - £833
Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK, with a vision of a just world, free from poverty. Running since 1985 we all now by now of the wonderful work that Comic Relief do both here in the UK and all around the world. Red Nose Day was once again a terrific and record breaking success, and Snack-in-the-Box are proud to once again be a part of that with this donation, which we are able to make thanks to the continued support and generosity of our customers and the hard work of our franchisees.
Cancer Research: £833
For this quarter we have chosen to donate to the vital work of Cancer Research. Cancer Research fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. Every step that they make towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated to them and we at Snack-in-the-Box are glad to be able to do what we can to help this important charity.
Fighting for childhood and preventing abuse, the NSPCC are the UK's leading children's charity. I'm sure there are only very few who are not aware of the amazing work that this long running national charity undertakes every year to not only protect children from abuse but to help abused children rebuild their lives.
Poppy Appeal : £850
The Royal British Legion poppy helps to provide thousands of modern veterans, Service men, women and their families with vital advice and support. Don't just wear a poppy for the memory of the fallen, wear it for the future of the living.
Help for Heroes : £800
Help for Heroes has promised to stand alongside the brave Heroes and support them for as long as required on their lengthy and complex journeys of recovery. The war in Afghanistan may be over, but for those who have suffered life-changing injuries, their battles are just beginning.
A big round of applause to Rob Coleman....
Our Manchester Franchisees, has recenlty handed over a cheque to the Help for Heroes Charity.
During the summer Rob completed the charity cycle ride from Manchester to Blackpool. A ride which was quite a mission for him, which saw him using his spare time, training for the event for a few months to improve his fitness and on the day itself, terrible weather which didn't help. But Rob soldiered on and completed the ride in a time which was very respectable.
When Rob told us about the ride and his plans to generate funds for the charity, we didn't hesitate in offering to match his sponsorship. We also provided a cycle jersey with SITB logos on and the charity logo he was riding for. Rob raised just under £400, a figure which we then matched.
Children in Need : £850
Thanks to the support of the public, we're able to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK. Every penny from the money you raise or donate will go towards helping disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.
